Ingredients
Rava (Sooji) - 100 gm
Sugar - 200 gm
Ghee - 100 gm
Cashew - 10
Cardamon - 4
Kesari powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Edible camphor (Pachai karpooram) - 1 pinch
Preparation
- Roast cashew with 1 teaspoon of ghee and keep this ready
- Heat rava in a dry pan along with 1 teaspoon of ghee, until rava turns light red. Might take 2 minutes
- Add 1 and 1/4 tumblers of water to roasted rava
- Let the rava cook. Might take 5 minutes
- Add the sugar with this
- Stir this frequently for 5 minutes
- Stir until the consistency is like rava upma
- Add kesari powder and stir
- Add the remaining ghee and mix thoroughly. Stir for 2 minutes
- Add the roasted cashew and edible camphor. Mix them and turn off the stove
